Our college has extremely strong and clearly communicated anti-hazing policies consistent with the priority we place on creating a safe environment for all of our students and student athletes.<br /><br />Upon being made aware of the allegations, the College took swift action to respond to this issue. This involved both launching our own internal investigation and reporting it to the Milton Police Department (as required by law).<br /><br />Curry College has no greater priority than to create a safe environment for all of our students and student athletes; any violations of our anti-hazing policy, regardless of their nature, are treated seriously. We are deeply disappointed that any member of the Curry College community would engage in any type of behavior that could be construed as hazing. While we regret that this will have an impact on student athletes who were not involved, it is important to send a message to all students on campus - both athletes and non - that behavior that is demeaning or physically harmful to other students is never acceptable and will be dealt with accordingly. In addition to suspending the 2009 season, individuals who may have been involved in this situation will be subject to additional sanctions as determined by the student conduct process.<br /><br />We have made counseling available to the students that may have been impacted by this issue.
